This means that, whether your car suffers from a mechanical breakdown while you’re travelling to work or you experience an electrical failure during a road trip in France, your car is protected. Within the UK, you’re covered in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. In Continental Europe, our policy helps cover you in the following countries:

Casings are included if any of the covered parts fail and cause damage to the casings. If damage is not caused by a covered part, then casings are excluded from the cover provided.

Both catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters are covered if they suffer from mechanical failure. However, you are not covered if these parts are damaged because you’ve used contaminated or incorrect fuel, or if the damaged caused is accidental.
